David Platt is a prominent figure in the world of evangelical Christianity, known for his impactful teachings and influential role as a pastor, author, and speaker. Platt has dedicated his life to spreading the message of the Gospel and inspiring others to live out their faith in a meaningful way. #DavidPlatt

Platt was the senior pastor at the Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, Alabama, 2006-2014. Platt then became the lead pastor of McLean Bible Church in Virginia in 2017.

In 2014, Platt assumed the role of president at the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, a major global missionary organization. The International Mission Board stands as one of the world’s largest entities dedicated to sending missionaries across the globe.

One of the defining aspects of David Platt’s ministry is his commitment to missions and global outreach. Through his involvement with the International Mission Board (IMB), Platt has been at the forefront of efforts to take the message of Jesus to unreached people around the world. His passion for missions is evident in his bestselling book “Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream,” where he challenges readers to consider a more radical, sacrificial approach to following Christ.

Platt’s teachings often emphasize the core principles of Christianity, urging believers to live out their faith authentically and engage with the world around them. His emphasis on the authority of the Bible and the call for Christians to live counter-culturally has resonated with many, leading to a significant impact on the lives of those who follow his teachings.

Beyond his role as a pastor, David Platt is a prolific author, with several books that delve into topics such as discipleship, prayer, and social justice. His articulate and thought-provoking writing style has made him a trusted voice in the Christian literary world, with his works being widely read and appreciated by a diverse audience.

While David Platt has garnered widespread admiration, he has not been without controversy. His challenging messages have sparked discussions within the Christian community about the balance between faith and works, and the implications of living a radical, countercultural life in the modern world.

In conclusion, David Platt’s impact on the evangelical landscape is undeniable. His commitment to missions, unwavering focus on biblical principles, and thought-provoking teachings have left a lasting impression on countless individuals seeking a deeper, more authentic expression of their faith. Whether through his role as a pastor or his writings, Platt continues to influence and inspire many on their spiritual journeys.

  1. I loved seeing this about David Platt! I didn’t know anything about him, except a quote of his Iove- “orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.”
