A Christian radio station based in Greeneville, Tennessee who is working to expand its reach outside the immediate listening area to further spread the word of God.
Truth-FM has been on the air for more than 15 years in Greene County and the surrounding region. The station provides listeners with a mix of programming, from praise and worship music to Christian-based teaching programs or sermons. It also airs local news and weather reports.
The 24-hour station broadcasts from a 250-foot tall tower, located off the Newport Highway in Greene County. With 17,000 watts of power, the radio station’s coverage extends 6,000 square miles in Northeast Tennessee. Plus towers in Georgia and Maryland. Plus plans to hopefully expand the station’s reach even further.
In addition to the airwaves, listeners can now tune into the station’s programming via the Truth.FM app as well as through a link on the radio’s website at TruthFM.net.
The tag line for Truth-FM, tells you that they are all about: declaring that Jesus Christ is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE (John 14:6).
The station is owned and operated by Solid Foundation Broadcasting, which was founded by Mike Smith, who serves as the SFB president. He also volunteers as a Truth-FM programmer and engineer.
It’s first and foremost a ministry, all our volunteers have jobs and do other things, but they have a passion for sharing the gospel this way.

For Smith, his role with the radio station is “a labor of love.” He and another engineer provide the technical work to design, build, run, and maintain the station. There are also two part-time employees, he noted. Truth-FM is designated as a tax-exempt charitable organization. It operates solely through local business sponsors and by people who the Lord moves on their hearts to donate with donations made to the station being tax-deductible.
Smith says, “The Lord puts the perfect message on at the right time.”
