The band was formed in Marietta, Georgia, in 1991 by lead singer Mac Powell and drummer David Carr. They were soon joined by bassist Tai Anderson and guitarist Mark Lee, and together they began to make music that was deeply rooted in their faith and their love for rock and roll.

Over the years, Third Day released a total of thirteen studio albums, as well as numerous live albums, compilations, and other projects. Their music was characterized by its raw energy, soaring melodies, and powerful lyrics that spoke directly to the hearts of their listeners.

One of the band’s most popular albums was their 2001 release, “Come Together.” This album featured hit songs like “Come Together,” “Show Me Your Glory,” and “Sing a Song,” and helped to establish Third Day as one of the leading Christian rock bands of their time.

Another landmark album for the band was their 2005 release, “Wherever You Are.” This album featured the hit single “Cry Out to Jesus,” which became an instant classic and resonated deeply with listeners around the world.

Throughout their career, Third Day remained committed to using their music to share the message of Jesus Christ with the world. Their music was a powerful tool for reaching people of all ages and backgrounds, and their concerts were known for their high-energy performances and passionate worship.

Sadly, in 2018, the band announced that they would be going their separate ways after a farewell tour. While it was difficult for fans to say goodbye, the band left behind a rich legacy of music and a deep impact on the lives of their listeners.

One interesting fact that many people may not know about Third Day is that the band’s name was actually inspired by the biblical account of Jesus’ resurrection. According to the New Testament, Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion, and the band chose their name as a reference to this important event in Christian history. In addition, the band members were also involved in various charitable and humanitarian efforts throughout their career, including supporting organizations that worked to combat human trafficking and provide clean water to communities in need.

Today, Third Day continues to be remembered and celebrated as one of the most influential Christian rock bands of all time. Their music has touched the hearts of millions, and their message of hope and redemption continues to inspire people around the world.
