The Truth About Scrubby Hospitality: Embrace Your Messy Side — Scrubby hospitality isn't about maintaining a spotless home for every guest. It's about embrace your messy side and creating a comfortable, inviting space that reflects your true self.

I recently learned about this form of hospitality from listening to K-Love over the weekend.

Why Scrubby Hospitality Matters

  • Authenticity: When you allow your home to be a reflection of your personality, you create a more genuine and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Comfort: A slightly messy home can feel more relaxed and inviting, making your guests feel at ease.
  • Time-Saving: By not striving for perfection, you can save time and energy that can be better spent enjoying your company.

Tips for Embracing Scrubby Hospitality

  • Don’t Stress Over the Small Stuff: A few toys on the floor or a pile of dishes in the sink won’t ruin your guest’s experience.
  • Focus on the Essentials: Ensure your home is clean in the key areas, such as bathrooms and the kitchen.
  • Create a Cozy Atmosphere: Add personal touches like throw pillows, blankets, and candles to make your home feel inviting.
  • Let Your Personality Shine: Don’t be afraid to display your interests and hobbies.
  • Enjoy Your Company: Remember, the most important part of hosting is spending quality time with your guests.

Truth it is, I’m sure their place right now would’ve be emasculate either. Plus false tidying up wouldn’t be who they are. If they servitude friends and family, they will accept your home as it is.

By embracing scrubby hospitality, you can create a more authentic and enjoyable experience for both yourself and your guests. So, the next time you have visitors, don’t worry about a perfectly clean home. Just relax, enjoy the company, and let your messy side shine.
