I first heard about this on Way-FM from one of the night DJ’s. I had to look into it and share it with my readers. The point in Text for Humanity is to send a positive, encouraging message. They will then send it to a random person who is signed up. After you send your message, you will receive a positive, encouraging message.

At 7:40 a.m. when I looked into this, their website stated they have sent 32,897 messages. I am not sure when they started doing this or how many people are signed up. Just over one hour and ten minutes, they now have sent 33,222 messages. That has been 325 messages in that time. Two of them were ones I sent.

According to Whois, TextforHumanity.com was registered in November of 2019.

4 easy steps

1. Text JOIN to (+1) 833 421-4726

There are also other numbers you can use for other countries. See their website for that list.

They will ask you two questions really. The first one is your Name and Country. Then it will go onto step 2.

2. Write a short text that will make someone smile.

They have sample messages on the website or you can create your own.

3. Text for Humanity will send it to a stranger somewhere in the world.

4. You’ll get a text from a stranger.

I sent my first one at 7:40 a.m. and got one from a stranger named Donna in the US around 5 minutes later.

I gave it another try and did a second one and it was within a few minutes to get one from a stranger in Canada. I am sure times may vary. (shown below)

They will even allow you to save it to your phone so share on social media such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Make sure to use the #textforhumanity hashtag when you share it!

I am not sure if they screen any text that come in.

I have noticed that most of the messages came from females and from the United States (US). I did get one from the UK and one from Denmark.
