If the church does not impact the community the church is in, then the church isn’t doing its job, with us having the opportunity to make an impact, then we are doing what Christ has called us to do to — serve the least of these.

Chris Everson, Royse City UMC Pastor

That is where Royse City First United Methodist Church decided to give that 2018 Christmas Eve Service money to their local school district.

Those funds collected where from the 200 member church!

In that school district, when students exceed $25 in debt the school can no longer provide them with a hot meal for lunch and instead they are given a ham or turkey sandwich, a carton of milk and a piece of fruit.

They paid off over $10,000. They only paid off the debts of those students with over $20 or more.

Sidenote: This church always take up a donation each Christmas Eve and decide where the funds will go.
