Tennessee Day of Prayer and Fasting
October 12, Gov. Bill Lee signed a proclamation declaring October 15, 2020 a Day of Prayer and Fasting.
In this Proclamation, shown below, this day is to acknowledge the pain, suffering and challenges that Tennesseans are experiencing from this unique season of life in our state and in our nation.
I invite all Tennesseans to join Maria and me as we pause to acknowledge our blessings and seek God’s guidance for our state in the days ahead.

This Proclamation also continued to state … That we acknowledge God’s continued sovereignty in times of distress and the urgent need of God’s grace over our state and our nation.
The Proclamation continued to mention about we walk humbly together with God in hope so that we may act with justice, kindness and love, no matter the circumstance.
Adding forgiveness from our many transgressions so that our hearts and minds may be renewed. (BTW I personally want you to know that forgiveness is very important!)
The Proclamation also stated that Scripture tells us that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord, and the Lord gives wisdom freely to those who ask for it.
I am so glad we have a governor in my state that is not ashamed or afraid to make these claims in a proclamation!
It also goes on about our rich blessings, deep transgressions and complex challenges ahead.
Then it ends by saying a Day of Prayer, Humility and Fasting.
Of course, this is not the first time Gov. Bill Lee had issued similar Day of Prayer Proclamations for the State of Tennessee.
Thank you Gov. Bill Lee!
