It is interesting my wife found that photo in my mom’s stuff. The reason being, I was just talking to someone about that old pirate ship at McDonald’s in Knoxville. I wished I could remember who I was talking about it to so I could show them this photo.

Growing up in Knoxville, TN 37917 my younger sister and I would get to go to the McDonald’s located at 3120 N. Broadway. Sherrie and I would climb up the top of this faux pirate ship inside the dining room eat our food.

If it was available, that is where my sister and I would sit to eat, we liked it up there and even pretended to steer the ship.

I guess that was my first experience in being a young pirate to now make me be Cap’n ChristianBlogR here. (don’t forget to roll the R’s) … RRRRRR!

I can tell we were young there. I am not sure how old my sister and I were there then. If I guess maybe 8-10? I’d say this was in the 1980’s.

My sister appears to be holding a Cabbage Patch Doll.

I do not recall when the Knoxville McDonald’s remodeled and removed that pirate ship from their dinning room. I miss it and I’m sure other kids today would have loved it just like my sister and I did growing up.

My sister passed away in 2021 and my mom in 2024. I grew up with just my mom, my sister and myself. Now, of us three, it’s just me left.

I did mention after my mom passed away I planned to blog the memories I had. This way, I have them written down. Otherwise, those memories may get suppressed or forgot.
