These dedicated athletes, known for their physical prowess on the field, are also using their platform to inspire others to consider the importance of faith and the transformative power of Jesus Christ.

Ohio State football players hosted a faith-based event on campus on Sunday evening, August 25, 2024. The revival, organized by former receiver Kamryn Babb, was attended by students and community members and supported by local Christian churches.

The revival featured prayer, baptisms, player testimonies and worship of God through song. Babb’s mother wrote on X that more than 2,000 people were present.

The revival event was a significant moment for the team and the university community, as it showcased their shared belief in the power of faith. By distributing Bibles and sharing their personal testimonies, the players are providing others with valuable resources and inspiration.

“Jesus transformed my life,” said TreVeyon Henderson, the running back. “He freed me from my sins, made me pure, and justified me. It wasn’t my own doing; it was Jesus’s grace. He wants to do the same for you.” Henderson later added, “Jesus died for all of us. God demonstrated His love for us on the cross. The blood He shed healed us. As the Bible says, ‘By His stripes, we are healed.”

The Impact of the Revival

The revival has the potential to make a significant impact on the lives of those who attended. By distributing Bibles, the players are providing people with a valuable resource for learning more about the Christian faith and deepening their understanding of God’s Word.

Their willingness to share their personal testimonies and experiences with Christ can be a source of encouragement and hope for those who may be struggling with doubt or uncertainty. By witnessing the positive impact that faith has had on their own lives, others may be inspired to seek a closer relationship with God.

A Testament to the Power of Faith

The Ohio State Buckeyes football players’ actions serve as a powerful reminder of the transformative power of faith. Despite the demands and pressures of their athletic careers, they have chosen to prioritize their spiritual lives and use their platform to share the gospel.

Their example is a testament to the fact that it is possible to be both a successful athlete and a devoted Christian. By combining their athletic abilities with their faith, they are demonstrating that it is possible to make a positive difference in the world.

Let us be inspired by their commitment to their faith and their willingness to share the gospel with others. May their actions serve as a reminder of the importance of using our talents and influence to make a difference in the lives of those around us. Remember, we are ALL called to share the gospel (Good News of Christ).

Some reports show around 60 people were baptized during the Buckeye revival.
