My Adventure to Canada, well sort of. We got to step foot on Canadian soil but was denied entry. This is another one of my random memories that I had to share with you all.
Learn how Canada became a country
While I was in college I had a female friend that wanted to go meet a guy off of the Internet she was talking to. She was going to go alone. Or seen all the Internet was just newly out than in the 1990s pretty much. And back then all you needed was a birth certificate to go to Canada. Oh by the way that is where the guy she was talking to lived. So we drive straight up there 32 hours both taking turns.
We arrive at the Port of Patrol probably around 2 AM. They asked us a bunch of questions including how much money we had between us. We didn’t have much money at all. So they denied us entry.

The border agents for Canada said what if her car breaks down, you all won’t have enough money to get it fixed.
So we go back to the states, actually was North Dakota, almost to Montana. She calls the guy tells him we cannot get entering into Canada he would have to come down here to Montana to meet. He didn’t want to do that.

Oh did I mention she mention to the Port of patrol that she was there to meet a guy off the Internet. I’m wondering if that also had a factor in that denied entry.
So we had to go back to US customs. We had to let them know that Canada denied us entry. Next thing you know I had to go into this room with a random truck driver. He had to watch me strip down to my underwear. The agents took my clothes and search them. Then I handed them back to me.
I’m not sure why they had a random truck driver to watch that was crazy. I was still young like a teenager early 20s maybe.
So we get a hotel room back in the states for the night and then proceed home. So you can say at least step foot in Canadian soil but never got to go really see Canada. I hope to be able to one day see that country.
This was the late 1990s. I didn’t really get to see Canada, but I did get to step foot on Canadian soil.
