Moses wore a face covering, a veil to protect those who were to look at him to interact with him.

It was used to protect the people! I know in that case it was due to his radiating face (glowing face). The ones today are for health concerns over Coronavirus COVID-19. Nonetheless, both are used to protect others.

“When Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil over his face.”

Exodus‬ ‭34:33‬ ‭NASB‬‬

A veil is a form of a face covering. In this case it was to protect the people from the radiant glowing of Moses’s face. Without it he was bright to look at it. Another note, when we spend time with God, others will notice. We all should have a glow about us.
