Love of God is first displayed on the Cross. Then it is also shown by other believers.
Love of God
God demonstrated His love by giving us His best, His one and only Son, Jesus Christ. Not only that God demonstrates His love through others. As a Child of God we love Him and love others.
After my mom passed away recently and I felt the love of God in many forms from fellow brothers and sisters in Christ especially in the church I attend and from other believers close to us. I wanted to blog about His love shown.
Phone calls
A lot of people in my church reached out to check on my wife and I by calling us.
Text messages
Just like the phone calls we received, many people reached to us via text messages.
Sympathy Cards
I got several sympathy cards from friends, church members and friends of my moms. I got one that is dear to me … a homemade card by a church member.
Cash, Donations
People blessed us with cash or donations. Those were much needed to help with other expenses you do not think about for planning a funeral and the after part like helping with a moving truck and storage unit for the loved ones belongings.
Gifts
Plus, a nice gift basket with goodies with food, tea, honey, snacks, etc. to make for future meals. We also received a couple of books to read.
Prayers
One of the most impactful gifts is prayers. Prayers for healing, strength, guidance and so much more in a time like this.
Hugs
Plus hugs … hugs can add warmth and show you care and are concerned for the person.
Meals brought to us
We were blessed with cooked meals. Plus one person took us out to eat.
Acts of Service
People offering help to pick up flowers at another location to bring to another. Helping to move your loved ones belongs after they passed.
I got to feel a similar love after my sister passed easy and when my wife had surgery, but I felt it even more with the passing of my mom. Which was much needed.
I think I felt the love of God more with my mom’s passing.
Thank you God for using my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to show your love. May You continue to use others to show your love … including me … After all you have blessed my with a tiny birthmark of a heart to remind me You love me and for me to love others too.
