Long sermon – Have you ever been to a long sermon? In America, we think the 20-30 minutes that our pastor preaches can be long. But, there has been longer sermons. What about the longest sermon recorded?
Usually most church services last an hour or a little longer. Usually there is 20-35 minutes of music or other stuff. Then the pastor will usually preach for 20-30 minutes. Then we call it done. However, in some countries they can have a service last all day long.
Even the Apostle Paul gave a long sermon. See the verse below.
On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul began talking to them, intending to leave the next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight.

In some countries, when the church assembles it’s not just for 1-2 hours, it’s usually all day long. They will also bring food and eat. What if we did the same thing in America?
Longest sermon recorded at the time of this blog post was by Florida Pastor, Zach Zehnder of a Mount Dora, FL. He broke the World Record for Longest Sermon at 53 Hours, 18 Minutes. Zehnder used 200 pages of notes and more than 600 PowerPoint slides.
What if we went to worship more than just one day a week or one hour a week? Can we stand the long sermons?
I knew a pastor who the church told him, he preached too long. I say, if we don’t like that here on Earth, we won’t be happy in Heaven.
