Jesus said you will know my disciples. There should be proof in the pudding. You should see a difference in the person of Christ.

So if your friends, family, coworkers and others around you, do not know you are following Jesus the odds are you aren’t. If you are following Jesus, you will want everyone around you to know Him too.

Christian faith is often described as a personal journey, but it’s also one that’s meant to be lived out in community and through actions. The statement suggests that if one’s faith in Jesus doesn’t manifest in ways that others can notice, it may be worth reflecting on the depth and authenticity of that faith.

In the New Testament, James 2:18 says, “Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.” This underscores the belief that faith, while deeply personal, should also inspire a transformation that is visible through acts of love, kindness, and justice.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

Ephesians 2:10

Following Jesus is not just about private devotion; it’s about embodying the teachings of Christ in everyday life. It’s about being a light to others (Matthew 5:16) and living in such a way that people can see the reflection of Jesus’ love in one’s actions. If one’s faith doesn’t impact how they live, interact with others, or contribute to their community, it may not be as influential or genuine as it could be.

This doesn’t mean that faith is a performance for others, but rather that a true connection with Jesus naturally overflows into every aspect of life, often in ways that others will notice. It’s a challenge to live authentically, aligning actions with beliefs, and allowing one’s life to bear witness to the faith they profess.

The essence of this brief is to encourage believers to examine their lives and ensure that their faith is not only professed but practiced, making a tangible difference in the world around them.
