I’d Win A Watermelon for my Scout Troop at Summer Camp. I remember in the Boy Scouts at Camp Buck Toms, toward the end of the summer, you had a chance to win your troop a watermelon.

You had to go the the Archery range and shoot at the watermelon with a boy and arrow. Too often the arrows would bounce off the rind. You had to hit just right.

In order to win, you had to show blood. That meant, you had to see the red in the melon. It usually took me two attempts and I would win it each year.

Boys from various troops would like up, we all would take turns until someone wins one.

I remember one of the years, someone said put it in your shirt to make you look pregnant. LOL Well, today, I don’t need a watermelon in my shirt to make me look pregnant anymore.
