WhyChristmas

We know of gold as a precious metal often used to make jewelry or art. It was even used to buy and sell goods or services. (Coins were made of it).

Au Symbol (from Latin: aurum) and atomic number 79.

Said to be a rare and precious element too.

Used in many of other aspects like tooth restoration. Some cultures use it to fill in cracks on pottery.

It has been said it also has medical uses too.

God has even used it as part of the temple and used many times, including during the Exodus. (As that is where most of what they used came from to build the temple, etc.).

Back in the Bible times the rich or kings were more associated with having an abundance.
