East Tennessee and other areas are in drought like conditions too with Highs today and early next week will reach far into the 90s with some places likely to reach 100°.
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
Stay Indoors: Spend as much time as possible in air-conditioned places. If your home isn’t air-conditioned, consider visiting public places like malls or libraries.
The last time Knoxville reached a high of 98° was in early July of 2012, which is very likely to happen.
More tips to stay cool continues …

Wear Light Clothing: Opt for lightweight, loose-fitting, and light-colored clothing to help keep your body cool. Even cooling type of hats and clothing.
Avoid Strenuous Activities: Try to limit outdoor activities to the cooler parts of the day, such as early morning or late evening.
Use Sunscreen: Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 15 to protect your skin from sunburn, which can affect your body’s ability to cool down.
Take Cool Showers: Taking cool showers or baths can help lower your body temperature.
Keep Your Home Cool: Use fans, close curtains or blinds, and avoid using the oven or stove to keep your home cooler.
Check on Vulnerable Individuals: Ensure that family members, neighbors, and pets are staying cool and hydrated.
Know the Signs of Heat Illness: Be aware of symptoms like heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, nausea, and headaches. Seek medical attention if you or someone else shows signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
