Back in my scouting days, we would always have a vesper service on any camping trip that were were there on a Sunday. Mostly I led the reading of the Bible, as I was the Chaplian’s Aid most of the time.

In the quietude of the early morning, midday or evening, a vesper service allows us to reflect on the wonders of God’s creation right directly in His creation itself.

With the sounds of nature surrounding us, we can offer prayers of gratitude for the beauty of the earth, the shelter of the trees, and the fellowship of our fellow campers. The Scriptures, shared can resonate in a profound way, reminding us that God is not confined to four walls but is present in every rustle of leaves and every gust of wind.

As we sing hymns of praise, our voices mingle with the chorus of nature. The wilderness becomes a symphony, and our vesper service transforms into a harmonious expression of faith.

So, next time you embark on a camping trip, consider bringing the sacred scriptures into the wilderness. Gather around the campfire, open your hearts to the beauty around you, and let the vesper service be a bridge connecting you with God and the untamed splendor of His nature. We find that our faith is not confined to any building but is also alive and well in the heart of God’s creation.

The clipart photo reminds me of the tents we camped in at Camp Buck Toms. We got to stay in those kind of tents for about a week.

The End of an Era: Redbox Shuts Down All Kiosks — In a move that marks the end of an era, Redbox, the iconic DVD rental service, is shutting down all of its kiosks. This decision comes as part of a Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation by its parent company, Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment¹². For over two decades, Redbox has been a familiar sight at grocery stores, convenience stores, and Walmarts across the United States, offering a convenient way to rent movies and games. However, the rise of digital streaming services has significantly impacted the demand for physical media, leading to this unfortunate outcome. #Redbox
