This dorky holiday is held annually on October 19. I couldn’t find when, who or how this day got started. A dork is a contemptible, socially inept person according to the Oxford Languages Dictionary. Sometimes, a dork is known as a nerd.

I think the biggest one I remember as a child on TV was Steven Quincy Urkel known as Steve Urkel on Family Matters. He was played by Jaleel White.

Two more that I remember growing up were …

Frederick Allan “Rick Moranis” played in a movie Honey I Shrunk The Kids. In that show he played Wayne Szalinski. There were also a few other take offs from this movie as well.

Let’s not forget Samuel ‘Screech’ Powers on Saved by the Bell. Powers was played by Dustin Neil Diamond.

In July there is another Dorky Holiday, Be A Dork Day!

I guess there are two dorky nerdy people to dress up like on this day.

Who else is a TV Dork?
