Don’t like the way I evangelize by saying to me analogies are sinful. They are blasphemy or a mockery. If people knew Jesus they would know He Taught in parables which is a form of analogies. To reach the lost you must explain things to them on their level and point it to Jesus. It’s all about Him! I’m sure those who are saying this only commented based on the exhortation and not the full blog post. See 1 Corinthians 1:18
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
So to reach the dark, you must shed the light.
My fellow brother George, reminded me of something I have heard before, about a situation with DL Moody.
DL Moody was told by a woman “I Don’t like the way you do evangelism.” He responded with “I rather don’t care for it myself, tell me; how do you do evangelism?” She said “Well I don’t.” He replied “Well madam, I rather prefer the way I do evangelism versus the way you do not do it.”
Thanks George for sharing that with me and giving me that reminder. I am sure most of those complaining are the ones not doing.
I do believe we must do whatever we can to reach the lost. The lost folks will not understand the gospel without Christ coming into them. We must present Christ to them in a way they will understand.
“At the end of the day the biggest obstacle to evangelism is the Christian who don’t share the gospel.”
A parable is a simple story used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson, as told by Jesus in the Gospels.
An analogy is a comparison between two things, typically on the basis of their structure and for the purpose of explanation or clarification.
The two go hand and hand in forming an illustration for someone.
If you don’t like the way I am sharing the gospel, let me ask the same thing DL Moody ask this woman, how are you sharing the gospel?
We are all called to share the Gospel of Christ! The way to reach one person may be different from another. The point is that we go and share! If you are not sharing the Gospel, then how can you claim that you love Christ?
If you love Him you will follow His commandments. One of them is the Great Commission. To go and share! I encourage you to Be Bold, Be Proud and Be Loud about your witness of Christ.
Besides I am sure if you really listen to the preaching you are given, you will hear tons of analogies given by the giving God’s Word to you.
All we do is all about Him! His benefit! It is a heart condition. Where is our heart when we go and share the Gospel. Besides works don’t save us! Jesus saved us by this Grace. He died for our sins. See Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
I am more worried about offending God than man. God wants us to go into the World and tell the World about Christ.

Loved this! It’s true. We can’t be criticizing the way others evangelize when we’re not doing it ourselves. Thank you for this post!
