Christmas Traditions

I am revisiting this blog post that I priorly posted because my mom recently passed away.

I come from a smaller family. I don’t remember many of them from when I was a child. I only remember a few …

The first Christmas Tradition was we (my sister, mom and I) would always or most always put up the Christmas Tree the day after Thanksgiving. I believe we always played Christmas Music CD’s or watched VHS Christmas movies while putting up the Christmas Tree and decorations.

The other Christmas Tradition I remember was on Christmas Eve, we always got to open one small present under the tree. It had to be a small gift, not a big one.

On Christmas morning, my sister and I couldn’t open up presents, until we made mom breakfast in bed. Then we each took turns opening up a present.

We would always love to watch the Christmas Programs on TV like A Charlie Brown’s Christmas, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, Santa Claus is Coming to Down, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, Muppet’s Christmas Carol, Miracle on 34th Street, It’s A Wonderful Life and the list can go on and on. Unless we had it on VHS, we had to wait for it to air on TV. Streaming TV wasn’t around back then.

I am not sure why I don’t recall a lot from my childhood, but I don’t. For some reason, those are the only two I remember. However, if I remember more, I will come back and add it to this blog post. Maybe more will flash back to me since I no longer have my sister or mom anymore.

What are some of yours?
