See You at the Pole 2024
SYATP 2024 will be Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Make sure to meet at your schools flag pole before school for prayer. This years verse is 1 Timothy 2:1. See the verse below. A global day of student led prayer.
It is always the fourth Wednesday in September of each year.
About See You at the Pole™
See You at the Pole™ is a global prayer movement ignited and led by students. Every fourth Wednesday of September, students from elementary schools to universities come together to pray, typically at their school’s flagpole before the start of the day. This grassroots initiative has spread worldwide, with students organizing and leading prayer gatherings in their own communities. While students take the lead, adults often show their support by praying simultaneously at nearby locations such as workplaces, churches, or government buildings.
“First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men,” 1 Timothy 2:1 NASB1995
The Birth of See You at the Pole™
In 1990, a group of youth ministers in Texas issued a challenge to young people: unite on a single day to kick off the school year with prayer. A key obstacle was connecting students who wanted to participate. A simple yet effective solution emerged: the school flagpole. Its visibility made it a natural gathering point. Inspired by 1 Timothy 2:1-2, which calls for prayer for government leaders, these teenagers were deeply concerned about the spiritual state of their nation. Thus, the location and name of the event were born.
