By His Stripes We Are Healed

Stripes are known to be a symbol of freedom we have stripes on the American flag which is a symbol of the 13 original colonies which help gave us the freedom we have here in America. That freedom is only temporary compared to the freedom of Christ.

But the ultimate stripes of freedom came from the stripes that Jesus took while he was being crucified died on the cross for the sins of the world.

I like this graphic I saw on Facebook. These stripes mean freedom now. Talking about the American flag. The other side an image of Jesus who has been flogged. It shows his stripes. It reads “these stripes mean freedom forever.” That is because there is Freedom in Christ!

Jesus went to the Cross to die for our sins. He was beaten, abused, mocked and more. He suffered greatly so we won’t have to. He took on the sin of the world. He conquered sin and death. So that we may live with Him. We just have to accept Him as our personal Savior.

Jesus Christ is the ultimate physician. He is the cure all. His was beaten and torn to free us from the bondage of sin. He can heal us! He changes us! Trust Him and allow Him to use you. Those marks on Jesus are marks of the punishment He took for us that we deserve that He didn’t deserve.

“But He was wounded for our transgressions,He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,And by His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5
