Beth Moore, splitting with Lifeway, says, ‘I am no longer a Southern Baptist

Beth Moore is known for a lot of Bible Study martial used in the Southern Baptist and Lifeway. Then Moore decides to leave Lifeway and stating she is no longer a Southern Baptist. This seems to come in after reports of some of her criticism with now former President Donald Trump.

That is where Moore criticized Trump’s abusive behavior toward women and she also was an advocacy for sexual abuse victims turned her from a beloved icon to a pariah in the denomination she loved all her life, as reports are stating.

“Wake up, Sleepers, to what women have dealt with all along in environments of gross entitlement & power,” Moore once wrote about Trump, riffing on a passage from the New Testament Book of Ephesians.

Because she was outspoken and opposed Trump on sexism and nationalism, she has been labeled as a “liberal” and “woke”. Plus, has been told she is a heretic for giving a message during a Sunday morning service.

Because of her opposition to Trump and her outspokenness in confronting sexism and nationalism in the evangelical world, Moore has been labeled as “liberal” and “woke” and even as being a heretic for daring to give a message during a Sunday morning church service.

“I am still a Baptist, but I can no longer identify with Southern Baptists,” Moore said in a phone interview with Religion News Service (RNS). “I love so many Southern Baptist people, so many Southern Baptist churches, but I don’t identify with some of the things in our heritage that haven’t remained in the past.”

Lifeway will still distribute Beth Moore books, however, it will no longer publish them or administer her live events.

“Lifeway is thankful for the partnership we’ve had with Beth Moore for more than two decades,” Lifeway President Ben Mandrell said. “We will continue to pray for her and her ministry moving forward. We look forward to working with Beth in new ways to encourage women to encounter God in His Word.”

Moore and her husband Keith are visiting a church they consider “gospel-driven,” though not tied as closely to the SBC. In the RNS piece, she expressed a fondness for Southern Baptists as a people and the editorial and marketing teams she worked with at Lifeway.

Let’s Keep The Moore family in your prayers during this time of change.

The End of an Era: Redbox Shuts Down All Kiosks — In a move that marks the end of an era, Redbox, the iconic DVD rental service, is shutting down all of its kiosks. This decision comes as part of a Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation by its parent company, Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment¹². For over two decades, Redbox has been a familiar sight at grocery stores, convenience stores, and Walmarts across the United States, offering a convenient way to rent movies and games. However, the rise of digital streaming services has significantly impacted the demand for physical media, leading to this unfortunate outcome. #Redbox
