American Family Day – A day similar to Father’s Day and Mother’s Day, but for the whole family! #AmericanFamilyDay
American Family Day
This day was started in 1977 by a 1-year proclamation signed by Governor Raul Castro. In 1978, it became an official holiday in Arizona by by Governor Bruce Babbitt.
It is held annually on the first Sunday in August. This day is so families can spend time together. It is also meant to not exchange gifts, but to spend time together and work on family relationships. Actually we should be doing this daily, not just one day out of the year.
I really cannot find out much more about this day.
