A-Z of the Military
First and foremost thank you to the many men and women who served that lost their lives for our freedom. Also thank you to the many men and women currently serving our armed forces.
A – Air Force and Army
A was the only that I felt I needed to do two, instead of one!
B – Boot Camp
C – Coast Guard
D – Department of Defense
E – Enlist
F – Fleet Admiral (FADM) – The last FADM to serve in the U.S. Navy was William D. Leahy. He retired in 1949 after World War II and was the last to achieve this rank.
G – Gunner
H – Helicopter (include “chopper”, “copter”, “helo”, “heli”, and “whirlybird”)
I – Infantry
J – Judge Advocate General (JAG)
K – KP Duty (Kitchen Police or Kitchen Patrol)
L – Lieutenant
M – Marine Corp
