I still want to say hey Siri, call Gram during my 50-55 minute commute to home. It was what I did after leaving work.
I still want to say hey Siri, call Gram
Gram is my mom, if you are new to my blog, that is the name my daughter, Amber called her: short for Grandmother. So ever since, it’s what I called my mom. That was maybe 24 years ago plus/minus. Don’t recall when my daughter did that, but I’m guessing maybe when she was close to two years old. So if you see Gram in my blog posts, that’s simply my mom.
The “Hey Siri, call Gram” is a feature that allowed my iPhone to call my mom using Siri, Apple’s voice assistant. I like this feature because it can allow me to call my mom hands-free and talk to her via my Bluetooth dongle.
To use the “Hey Siri” feature, you need to have Siri enabled on your iPhone or other compatible Apple devices. Once enabled, you can simply say “Hey Siri, call (person’s name)” and Siri will initiate a call said contacts name. Like I did for my mom. Did I mention that contact must be in your contacts in order to use that feature.
There are plenty of other things the “Hey Siri” features. Anyways! I know I can call somebody else, but it wouldn’t be the same. Some days we would talk awhile, while others days were short or mom never answered.
Not totally sure where I’d go with this post.
I will miss talking to my mom. The holidays are coming up … I know God will see me through as I grieve. Perhaps it won’t hit me this season, but maybe next year. Please keep me in your prayers.
So I now I use my commute home more for podcasts and Christian audiobooks.
