I want to share with you about the power band witnessing tool bracelet or called power bracelet. In 1994 when I worked as a camp counselor that year at Camp Ba-Yo-Ca. I got to learn to make these. Each week was a new set of boys. Each week for the month, we got to make these. This colorful bracelet  with colors from the rainbow. Each color in this witnessing bracelet have a meaning. This bracelet is a good way to share with others about Christ. Maybe you can make a second one or more and give these out as you share the colors and their meanings.

What you will need:

  • Leather Lace String (Long enough Wrap around your wrist a 1 1/2 times or so – gives room to tie the knots)
  • Black Bead (1)
  • Red Bead (1)
  • White Bead (1)
  • Blue Bead (1)
  • Green Bead (1)
  • Yellow Bead (1)
  • Clear Bead (1)

How to put them together?

Take the leather lace string and make it long enough to fit your wrist with a little extra room. This extra room is for two knots and so you can put on and off the bracelet. You will make a first knot and then put the colors on in order as they are above, except the clear. While you put on each color read about what each color means. Once you have the yellow bead on and read about it. Tie the last night. Then you put the clear bead on and read about it. The clear bead makes the two ends a slip where you can put on and off the bracelet. Tie each end separately to the clear bead doesn’t fall off.

What does each color and the knots mean?

Represents spiritual darkness because of sin.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. – Romans 3:23

Red:

Represents the blood Jesus shed to pay the penalty for our sins.
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8

But those things which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled. – Acts 3:18

Yellow:

Represents heaven and glory with Christ!
Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.  Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. – Revelation 21:1-3

Knot:

Represents the end of life when every person will stand before God.
Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, – Hebrews 9:27

Clear:

Represents Christ’s clear call to repent and put our faith in Him alone.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. – John 14:6

Around Easter people use Jelly Beans and do something similar, called The Jelly Bean Prayer.

Have you made these? Let me hear about your experiences in making them, sharing what they mean.

  1. Our youth group are putting together some craft kits for children in foster care for Christmas and I think these will be a great addition. Thank you for putting clear instructions that make sense! Blessings to you.

  2. I now have added a free printable that you can use, One is single size and the other is to be able to print 9 of them on one page and then cut them out to hand out with the craft.

  3. I remember wearing these as a teen. It is a great tool that opens doors and acts as a cheat sheet for those wanting to share their faith. This combined with the Romans Road provided a great framework for sharing the Gospel.

    1. It’s amazing what we can use visually as aids to witnessing like this bracelet or even gospel Tracts, make great convo starters. Roman’s Road and ABC’s of salvation. Thank you for visiting and your comment.
